of products and creations, top of the range and custom made, from the family company Socotex, based in Honfleur.

History:

Socotex is well-established in Honfleur on the coast of Calvados.

Ever since it was set up in 1972, Socotex has made all kinds of canvas fabric and it is entirely dedicated to its line of business.

Xavier Peyrucq, from Pau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) joined the company Socotex in 1977 at the age of 21 (it was founded by Mr Ranguen). He developed his skills in the workshop.

After getting used to working with the fabric, he then went back to the sales department of the structure.

In 1993, he files a patent application for the product IDEEA POP UP GAZEBO Abrifacil®,

that can be folded away in two minutes.

This is awarded the innovation prize by « Le Moniteur ».

In 1995, Xavier Peyrucq, with the help of his wife, takes over the management of Socotex and basically all parts of the company.

TEXTILE ARCHITECTRE

In 2007, with the acquisition of the company, Toiles et Structures, Socotex starts to focus more on the metal-textile architecture and therefore it is able to full satisfy all the customers’ demands.

The addition of the skills and expertise favours the creation of the Abritez-vous chez nous/Get shade with us Group.

In 2009, the company focuses on making the canvas of the new big top « la Cathédrale » Arlette-Gruss with the help and the advice of Gérard Bourdin, a benchmark and master of Big Tops. It is the first time in the history of the Arlette-Gruss circus that a big top had been made in France.

In order to develop and manufacture, Socotex adapts its organisation and it develops standard and custom made, top of the range products, mainly focusing on patio and terrace furniture and accessories, outdoor protection, with all types of covers and membranes, for private individuals or professionals.

Socotex creates its own brands and it communicates under the trademark

ABRITEZ-VOUS CHEZ NOUS to design and publicise these ranges of products.

Socotex therefore diversifies its clientele : artisans, upholsterers, saddlers, architects, landscape gardeners, decorators, carpenters… etc. All this by optimizing and expanding on its product range according to their specific requirements.

Firstly, the company focuses on up market outdoor products and it also gives customers the option of ordering custom made strong and elegant sunshades and parasols that have technical fabric, which is distinguished for its performance in terms of protection again the sun and the bad weather.

In 2007, with IDEEA SHADE SAILS, the group positions itself in the shade sail market with an up market custom made piece. After this, it becomes a key manufacturer in this field.

In 2011, Socotex develops and makes its range of vertical pergolas and blinds. Under the registered trademark IDEEA PERGOLAS, Socotex starts selling innovative designer canvas pergolas!

Socotex gets bigger, the factory workshops double in size and its machine park is enlarged to make custom made pergola structures onsite at Honfleur.

In 2014, it launches its full range of blinds IDEEA AWNINGS

Blinds that rhyme with modernity and quality!

In 2015, the machine park is topped up once again

- With a revolutionary machine that can weld the glass edge to edge. This new technology produces a much better finish and product.

- With a digital printer for high definition printing of the fabrics.

The group takes part in numerous trade fairs in France and abroad (Batimat, Maison & Objet, Equip’Hotel, Equip baie, R + T, Artibat, Atlantica, Sett,…) and it keeps up-to-date with innovations and new developments.

Family company

At the end of 2013, Déborah Peyrucq, his daughter joins Socotex - Toiles & Structures, after a professional career in the world of luxury products and textiles.

Soon she becomes Co-manager and takes over the management of the factory, contributing her professionalism and new corporate drive.

In 2018, Déborah PEYRUCQ was awarded the prix Femme Dirigeante (Female Director Prize).

She won the Normandy edition of "Les Femmes de l'économie" for helping to boost her region's economy.

The Femmes de l’économie reward and value women with remarkable professional careers in the rich and diverse business sectors.
